There were reports of patients who suffered from gallbladder gangrene were the ones who recovered from COVID-19 Infection.
During the second wave of the pandemic, gallbladder surgeons in Kolkata have discovered gangrene in patients who have recovered from the pandemic.
It is known that COVID affects the lungs which contain the highest number of ACE2 receptors. The same receptors are also present in the gastrointestinal tract.
ACE2 receptors are the primary gateway for viruses to enter the body. It allows the SARS-COV-2 virus to enter the body and aggravates the inflammation of the gallbladder.
Ninety-one cases of COVID-19 new variant “FLiRT” have been reported in India. Its sub-variants, KP 0.2 and KP 1.1 are even more contagious, increasing the number of COVID cases.
According to various publications, the new variant is likely to evade the immunity of past infected patients and give rise to many health issues.
Some of the symptoms of FLiRT include sore throat, coughing, fever, runny nose, chest congestion, fatigue, and head and body aches.
